​Documents Required for Bike Ownership transfer

  1. Registration Certificate Book (RC):- This is the official document for the transfer of bike ownership. It is mandatory for seller to give the Registration Certificate book to the buyer during the ownership transfer process. It should be checked and verified that the RC Book to make sure that it contains valid details like the seller’s name, engine, chassis number, and other details. The information available on the RC should match with the specifications of the motorcycle or bike.

  6. Certificate of Insurance: – According to Motor Vehicle Act, 1988 it is mandatory that the bike in covered under insurance which are operating in India. It ensures by the buyer that the insurance policy has been transferred in his name and also checked its expiry. If the policy expires, then there is an option for buyer either to renew it or purchase a new one.
